Amistad partners with Dr. Scott Nelson and Haiti Adventist Hospital staff, who provide highly intricate modern orthopedic surgical procedures.

Dr. Scott Nelson, an orthopedic surgeon, and his wife, Marni, have helped provide essential medical care to people in Haiti for over 20 years. After the devastating 2010 earthquake, they established an orthopedic program at Haiti Adventist Hospital (HAH). Amistad has partnered with HAH to fund solar power, water systems, medical equipment, renovation projects, and on-site oxygen generation, as well as to provide direct patient subsidies for those who cannot afford their care. Since 2023, the dental fund was established to support patient care and provide equipment to the Haiti Adventist Hospital Dental Clinic.
