Last weekend (November 8, 2013) one of our young Buddha’s Smile School (Varanasi, India) students was burned when he tried to cross the rail tracks behind his house. Babo was burned on his back and legs with high electrical current. The school has no funds for his medical care. He will most certainly need skin grafts. The school has no money for his current hospitilization.
At the beginning of the school of our 221 students 30 live alongside the train tracks in rag lean-to’s. Their home conditions are appalling. In October, one of our students, Durga, 5, was raped and her body thrown under a train and cut in half. Our students who live along the tracks deal with constant dangers.
If anyone might be able help Babo’s medical care, please send a check to:
Amistad International
1657 Edgewood Drive

Or through our website: www.amistadinternational.org. Please mention that your gift is for Babo, so that we correctly designate your gift. If a miracle happens and there are more funds that Babo’s medical care require, the remaining funds will go into the BSS medical fund for future injured and ill BSS students.
